Texas laws were recently updated, and starting September 1, schools are required to take specific action when students are in possession of an e-cigarette or any of its parts while at school.
According to the new law, starting September 1, a student must be placed in a DAEP if the student sells, gives, or delivers to another person or possesses or uses an e-cigarette.The DAEP is located at the Student Opportunity Center (SOC).
When a student is at the DAEP, they are prohibited from attending school-sponsored events, participating in athletics or other extra-curricular activities, and may not be on FISD property other than the Student Opportunity Center.
Please review this video and this article on our FISD website for more details. Please talk to your kids about the consequences of these actions.

SENIOR EVENTS
PSAT for 10th and 11th grade October 4- Be Prepared!
Frisco ISD will administer the PSAT, free of charge, to all 10th and 11th grade students on October 4, 2023. The PSAT helps students identify academic areas of strength and growth, as well as prepare for college entrance exams like the SAT. This is also the qualifying test for the National Merit Scholarship Program for students in 11th grade and the National Recognition Programs for both 10th and 11th grade students.
All 10th and 11th grade students enrolled at Reedy High School are automatically registered for the exam.
Please avoid scheduling appointments for your student on this day as there is no make-up day for this test.
This fall the PSAT/NMSQT will be administered in a new digital format that will provide an overall easier testing experience for students. High school students are encouraged to opt-in to the District’s 1 for All Chromebook program to ensure device compatibility with online testing.
Accommodations in a student’s IEP or Section 504 plan do not automatically apply to College Board exams like the PSAT. Parents must contact Katrina Stroot (strootk@friscoisd.org) submit all required documents by August 11, 2023, if a student needs to add or change accommodations with the College Board’s Services for Students with Disabilities. Additional information can be found on the district website.
Students can access PSAT/NMSQT Study Guide 2023 to prepare.
