General Rules for Band Members
Be a member of ‘remind’ and check the posting board directly outside the band room door for the latest info.
Arrive on time for all band functions.
Show goodwill towards fellow bandsmen and other musician-peers at all times.
Take performances and rehearsal seriously. Remain in uniform..
Come to rehearsal prepared. Know your routines, music, drill, etc.
No talking or disturbances of any kind will be tolerated during rehearsals.
Keep the band room, music suite and school clean and orderly.
Keep music in order where it can be reached with little confusion for rehearsals and performances. Do not leave music on the stands, instruments unattended, or where they don’t belong.
Have a pencil and check for special equipment needed before rehearsal begins (valve oil, lyre, flip-folder, reeds, drum sticks, etc).
Do not attract attention to yourself when representing the band. Such as loud playing/blasting of instruments, screaming, etc.
The drum line shall maintain a reasonable volume indoors.
Arrange pick up after functions in a timely fashion. Make phone calls prior to arriving back in the school.
Medical/Health Office Concerns/Issues
If you have a documented health condition that requires medication, specifically epi-pen devices, inhalers, diabetic equipment, this condition must be on file with doctor’s order etc with our health office before that student may travel or perform with the FTHS Band.
