The English Department at Freehold Township High School offers a wide variety of core and elective courses - twenty-five in total - to meet the needs and interests of our student body. Accelerated courses include AP Language and Composition, AP Literature and Composition, and International Baccalaureate English Literature. Across all courses, twenty-four faculty members work closely with students to improve their reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills, while emphasizing critical thinking and real-world application for college and career readiness.
The International Baccalaureate Department comprises of twenty-six faculty members who deliver the internationally recognized, highly rigorous Diploma Program for students grades 11 and 12. Underclassmen interested in pursuing the Diploma have the opportunity to take honors-level courses taught by IB-trained teachers in preparation for the Program. The International Baccalaureate aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable, and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect.
