Our Investment Day for the 2025-26 season will be held at Freeman HS on May 19. It is an opportunity to learn about all that Marching Band and Color Guard will require to be successful throughout the school year.
The initial “FAIR SHARE” installment of $350 is required on Investment Day. Once mandatory items to be purchase are added to that FAIR SHARE amount, if the total amount due is more than can be paid today, a payment plan with a final payment date of DECEMBER 1, 2024 can be set up with our booster treasurers. We understand that every family’s situation is different and don’t want the financial aspect of band to be a reason a student doesn’t participate. Please reach out if this is a concern and we will find a way to help!

If your student is a member of the Marching Band, you will be required to order and pay for:
Mandatory Fees (2 fees)

If your student is a member of Color Guard, you are required to order and pay for:

In addition, you will find Optional Items that can be purchased.
*Returning band and guard members only need to purchase replacement items or items new to the Mandatory category if they have usable items from last year in good condition. Please bring your duffel bag with marching shoes, gloves, practice shirts and shorts, flip folder, lyre, water jug, band polo and any other band gear for inspection IN PERSON.

"FAIR SHARE" (REQUIRED OF ALL BAND AND COLOR GUARD STUDENTS)
This fee covers the cost of clinicians, buses for transportation not covered by KISD, music, drill design, choreography, visuals/props, band contest fees, trailer maintenance, general band operation costs, vendor choice freedom, and any incurred costs above what the district is willing to pay.
PERFORMANCE DAY MEALS (REQUIRED OF ALL BAND AND COLOR GUARD STUDENTS)
This fee will cover 13 meals (10 games and 3 band contests) at $10 each. This is Freeman’s inaugural year. As such with the help of all parents we plan to fund raise so that in the school years to come the boosters are able to cover this expense for each student.

DISTRICT BAND COURSE FEE (REQUIRED FOR ALL BAND AND COLOR GUARD STUDENTS)
This is a Katy ISD requirement and this fee will be paid directly to Katy ISD through the PAY n’ Go online at the Katy ISD website portal. (NOT PAID TO FHS Band Boosters)
INSTRUMENT MAINTENANCE FEE (Only for school owned instruments)
This is only incurred if you are renting an instrument through Katy ISD and is payable through PAY n’ Go. (NOT PAID TO FHS Band Boosters)
SPIRIT WEAR
If you and your student are interested in purchasing any FHS Golden Eagle Band Spirit Wear, head over to our "Swag Shop". This is a great way to show your pride in our school and our band program!
VOLUNTEERING
Parent Volunteers are needed in various departments in the Freeman HS Band organization. Please endeavor to assist in AT LEAST one opportunity at some point this school year. Your willing participation not only supports the band’s various projects, but will also help to foster community amongst the students. Several people are needed for each position for EVERY event. You do not have to volunteer for each event. You will find all volunteer opportunities listed for sign up in the CutTime calendar.
Chaperone - Ride the bus (away) or walk (home) with the Band and Color Guard to games/contests and monitor in the stands and during performances, watching for signs of heat stress and helping with any needs.
Meals - Assist with organizing game day food orders as well as serving meals to the Band and Color Guard.
Loading Crew/Pit Crew - Assist with loading instruments, equipment, and show props before and after games/contests.
Performance Apparel/Uniforms - Assist with collecting, storing and organizing Band and Color Guard uniforms/performance clothes.
Photography - Assist with taking and collecting photographs of any band event.
BOOSTER ORGANIZATION
Being a member of the band booster organization enables the band organization to not only have funds that allow organization flexibility but also enriches the band organization by fostering community. If you are interested and need more information, please see one of the board members or directors. You can pay membership dues in the checkout for Investment Day. Levels of membership are explained below:
Includes name honored in all Band event programs and on Band website
Full Booster Club voting rights as well as inclusion in all meetings
Recognition on Banner displayed at various Band events
Tax deductible form available January 31 st of the following year
