Below is a description of the various volunteer opportunities. While it is not a requirement to be in Band, we highly encourage all parents/guardians to sign up for at least one opportunity. It's a great way to get to know the kids, the directors and other parents, and it's honestly what makes it possible to give our kids all of the great opportunities they have.
Below is a guide on how to use CutTime text messages to sign up for volunteer opportunities. Click the arrow in the upper right corner to Pop Out and open in another tab. You can also see a video of this process below.
The Pit Crew is made up of dedicated parents that do not mind helping move and set up Props and Front Ensemble equipment. Since we only have a short amount of time to get on and off the field for games and contests, we need as many hands as possible to assist our students with their equipment. The Loading Crew consists of parents who want to help supervise the loading and unloading of our truck as well. The Loading Crew is usually made up of the same set of parents as the Pit Crew. These parents will be required to organize the equipment trucks and start the loading and unloading process for away games.
Seeking highly motivated parents that are willing to ride and travel on the bus, so they can have an experience of a lifetime to engage with students and build relationships. Parent support is needed at all of our events, especially at football games and marching contests. We need help making sure the students stay hydrated, passing out food before games, and monitoring the students in the stands. These are just a few of the many jobs we need help with on game nights and on contest days. Chaperones will be required to ride the bus with the students and the directors for away games, so that we may keep an eye on the students during travel time to and from events.
It takes many hands to keep our kids looking good. On game and contest days, volunteers are needed in the uniform room before and after games, and are on hand at games and contests to make sure the band looks as perfect as possible. They also take care of the concert band attire. It’s a great way to get to know the kids!
Please meet in the Band Hall between 6:00-6:15. We will walk with the students to the stadium and sit/stand with them throughout the game and performance. More details to follow.
We need to make sure that our children are well taken care of. They mean the world to us. We are seeking volunteers that can fill and carry coolers with ice, bring out medical cart and provide ice to students that are over heated. This opportunity is for the duration of outdoor practice and gives you an opportunity to make sure all is well. All help and a caring heart is needed, however anyone one with nursing experience is highly recommended.
Seeking inviting, and fun personalities to set up a location to meet, greet and welcome all to the area. This opportunity will require a setup of the area, monitoring and replacing of items as needed. This gives you an opportunity to get to know students, parents and staff. We would like this to be done with a warm embrace of happiness.
