Regional high school

Honors (Photo Left): On Thursday, April 5, 2018, the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education celebrated 25 years of education reform in Massachusetts. As part of the Leading the Nation celebration, the 2017 Massachusetts Commendation Schools, including ARHS, were honored at the State House. Congratulations to the students, staff, and ARHS community for this achievement.

DECA (Photo Right): ARHS DECA Club is both popular and successful. At this year's District 8 DECA Conference, ARHS students earned over 180 awards and 40 students have qualified for states. At this year's state competition, 14 students qualified to compete at DECA’s International Conference in Atlanta.

Athletics: ARHS Fall & Winter Athletic successes are plentiful. Six of our eight varsity teams this past fall participated in competitive MIAA contest play. Girls soccer and volleyball advanced to the Division II South Quarterfinals. Ian Fickert advanced from the MIAA sectional golf match to advance to the MIAA Division II Individual State Golf Finals. Andy Johnson became the first boys basketball player in 21 years to score 1,000 points in a career. Our teams distinguished themselves with pride, sportsmanship and dedication. Many of our student athletes were selected as all stars, honorable mentions and sportsmanship recipients to the South Coast Conference and received various other media recognition.

Celebration: ARHS held a Dude Be Nice III Celebration. The entire student body and staff received a citation from State Representatives Carole Fiola, Keiko Orrall, and Paul Schmid as a result of outstanding student achievement on the state MCAS exam. School Committee Chairperson, Jean Fox, also presented a banner on behalf of the entire School Committee. Mr. Ed Gerety (pictured above) provided a motivational speech with the message of "be kind" and World Language Curriculum Leader, Mrs. Amanda Nardi, was recognized by students and staff. These events, were sponsored by Student Council for, “Dude Be Nice Week III."

Student Council: Student Council students attended the Massachusetts Association of Student Council's annual spring conference in Hyannis where the theme was "Experimenting with Leadership." The conference kicked off on Wednesday with the annual Polar Plunge that raised over $37,000 across the state for Special Olympics of Massachusetts. The energetic leaders attended a variety of workshops and presentations that gave them critical leadership ideas and tools to bring back to ARHS so that we continue to improve our school. Our proud members ended the conference on Friday by being named a Gold Council of Excellence, the highest level of recognition.

ARHS ARTS

ARHS ARTS are alive and well! The ARHS Players provided the community with their production of Annie. The show was directed by Ms. Kristen Lippincott, Mr. Ed Ledwith, and Mrs. Ashley Rimbey.

Music students auditioned for the annual SEMSBA Competition.Congratulations to the following ARHS students on their acceptance to Festival Ensembles: Rina Kada, Senior Band; Grace Couto, Senior Chorus; Kylie Gracia, Grace Manning and Kelsey Rioux, Junior Chorus. Well done!

Seven (7) ARHS Band members - Jack Dupre, Becky Goodfellow, Rina Kada, Ben Kitchen, Katie Little, Reis Medeiros, and Emily Porter - participated in the 5th Annual High School Honor Band Festival at Bridgewater State University. The one-day event consisted of rehearsals and workshops with Stephen Meyer from the Crane School of Music in Potsdam, NY and culminated with an evening concert.

Student art work was showcased at both the Freetown Historical Society and at the Great Ponds Gallery in Lakeville. Congratulations to Austin Lopes, Class of 2019! Austin received an Honorable Mention from the Scholastic Art and Writing Award competition. He received this recognition for his digital photograph titled "hen SHINE"​.
