Learning to Love, Loving to Learn.
At Servite, our curriculum is carefully crafted so that our children develop their academic, social and cultural capital. Our curriculum teaches our children that possibilities are endless and that there are no limits to what their ambitions are. Our broad and balanced curriculum promotes curiosity and a love and thirst for learning. It is ambitious and empowers our children to become independent and resilient. We strive for academic excellence and want our children to have high aspirations for themselves. The bespoke design of our curriculum ensures that an effective balance of broad learning opportunities are available for the holistic development of our children.
Our curriculum has been carefully built and the learning opportunities and assessment milestones for each year group crafted to ensure progression and repetition in terms of embedding key learning, knowledge and skills.
At Servite, six core values underpin everything that we do, everything that we teach and everything that we aspire for our pupils to value now and when they leave us: Ambition, Possibilities, Faith, Love, Respect and Community. Our bespoke curriculum provides regular opportunities to demonstrate and promote our values.
Formative assessment is used daily by teachers to inform planning and establish any short-term interventions required. This helps us provide the best possible support for all of our pupils, including the more able. Summative assessment is carried out termly to inform longer-term planning and identify any interventions required. Again, this includes for our more able. Proof of progress (POP) tasks are carried out at the end of units of work in foundation subjects to allow children the opportunity to demonstrate acquired knowledge and perform skills using this knowledge.
Year group specific knowledge organisers for units of work and links to helpful resources can be found on our Class Websites. Children will need their Google login to access these websites. Click the button below to go to the Class Websites page.
