Early Years Curriculum
Learning to Love, Loving to Learn.
In our school we are guided by our faith and encourage our children to live and act according to Gospel values. It is our goal that our children come to school filled with joy as each new day brings endless possibilities and that they feel safe, take risks, ask questions, make mistakes, learn to trust, share their feelings and grow.
At Servite our aim is to build relationships and create a learning environment which supports, enhances and fosters a child’s curiosity, confidence, resilience and thirst for learning. We aim to build on the wealth of knowledge and skills children already have when they arrive at our setting and to work collaboratively with parents and carers to encourage independent, enthusiastic learners who thrive and reach their full potential regardless of backgrounds, circumstances or needs.
Our bespoke curriculum provides regular opportunities to demonstrate and promote our six core values which underpin everything that we do, everything that we teach and everything that we aspire for our pupils to value now and when they leave us: ambition, possibilities, faith, love, respect and community.
Our curriculum is designed to recognise children’s prior learning, provide first-hand learning experiences and allow our children to develop interpersonal skills, build resilience and become creative, critical thinkers to enable them to challenge themselves.
The impact of our EYFS curriculum is reflected in having well rounded, happy and confident children who demonstrate not only our core values but the knowledge, skills and attitudes which will make them lifelong learners and valuable members of our community. Children who have developed knowledge and skills across all areas of the curriculum and are eager to learn more. Children who are problem solvers, risk takers, speakers and listeners, think creatively and critically, demonstrate perseverance and resilience, ask questions and show kindness, love and respect.
