English Intent

At Servite Primary School, our high-quality English curriculum will teach pupils to speak and write fluently so that they can communicate their ideas and emotions to others and through their reading and listening, others can communicate with them. Through reading in particular, pupils will develop culturally, emotionally, intellectually, socially and spiritually. Reading will also enable pupils both to acquire knowledge so that they can build on what they already know about the world. We want our pupils to develop strong language skills that will enable them to participate fully as a member of society.
