Mr. Deitz
At West District, our elementary physical education program is designed to help students build lifelong fitness habits, develop motor skills, and foster teamwork through a variety of engaging activities and games. The focus is on creating a positive environment where every child can experience success, improve their health, and grow in confidence through movement. I have had the privilege of serving as the physical education teacher here for the past 12 years, guiding students through these experiences and watching them grow not only in their physical abilities but also in their character, sportsmanship, and love of being active.
Outside of school, I enjoy spending my time hiking, running, exercising, golfing and playing sports with my two sons at home. I believe in the importance of living a healthy, active lifestyle and the positive impact it has on both the body and the mind. Staying active not only builds strength and fitness but also boosts confidence, reduces stress, and creates lifelong habits that support overall well-being. My goal is to help students see movement as something fun and rewarding so they carry those healthy choices with them beyond the classroom.
