In the fall 2025, Phoenix Habitats, Inc. completed a master plan for the creek corridor within our neighborhood.
In the spring 2026, we will begin planting denuded areas along the creek’s edge. Our goal for Phase 1 is to plant nearly 2,000 native grasses and shrubs. Volunteers are critical to our success. Sign-up here.
Plans for Phase 2 are under way. We will extend the planting in other areas that are free of invasive plants.
We plan to begin the process of eradicating the invasive plants. This effort calls for the application of herbicides and will take two or more years.
As areas are cleared of invasives, we will be ready to plant native grasses and to restore the natural habitat.

The master plan prepared by Phoenix Habitats, Inc., calls for the creation of a wetland meadow. Native grasses, shrubs, and wildflowers will provide a healthy environment and create a beautiful, interesting amenity. In time, we hope to construct a path through the corridor making it accessible to the entire neighborhood.
The ultimate goal is to establish a healthy ecosystem of native plants, shrubs, and trees all along the creek. This will help stabilize the bank and contribute to creating a neighborhood amenity for all to enjoy.
