Top 5 teams make it to state.
Packets/Athlete Declarations/Paperwork Submission/Coaches’ Passes - Your team packet will be available at the Scorers’ Trailer near the finish area. It is at this time that you will declare your individuals who will participate in the Regional events (up to 7 per team in each event). Only coaches or designated school officials can declare athletes. Per the 2023 KHSAA Cross Country Regional Meet Instructions, the only forms that need to be submitted are any XC120 forms (medical/inhaler form for applicable athletes).
Each school will be provided with two coaches passes for the girls’ event and two for the boys’ event, which will allow greater access to the course than spectators. Similar to the State Meet, these passes must be returned in the provided envelope to the registration area immediately following each race.
Bus and Spectator Parking - Buses and cars will be directed where to park upon arriving at the meet. We will fill up the Sherman parking lots first, then the bus garage area, and then the field areas, if necessary. Carpooling to the regional championship is highly recommended. Please let your fans know that parking in any undesignated area could result in their vehicle being towed at their expense. Emergency vehicles must have access to and from the meet site in the event of an emergency.
Admission - Admission to the Regional Championships will be $6 per person ($5 ticket price & $1 GoFan convenience fee). Coaches, bus drivers, regional entrants, and children not yet in school will be admitted free of charge. Please inform your parents, grandparents, etc. that there will be an admission fee charged to help offset meet expenses. Tickets can be purchased online at Grant’s Go Fan Page. https://gofan.co/app/school/KY6389
Pets - Due to safety concerns, meet management has declared that there will be no pets allowed at the Regional Championships. It is best to instruct your parents/spectators to simply leave them at home; however, if they are brought, then they must remain in your vehicles at all times.
Service Animals Guidelines per the KHSAA Post Season Manual - Service animals are important and valued professionals that serve the needs of owners and must be present at all times. Because service animals are essential for specific individuals, we wanted to make sure all attendees are aware of the definitions and guidelines in place to make certain service animals are present as well as to ensure the well-being of all individuals in attendance at KHSAA championship events. Service animals are the only animals the general public may bring into the indoor and outdoor facilities of a KHSAA championship. The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) defines a service animal as a dog who has been trained to perform a task directly related to an individual’s disability. Upon entry to a championship, owners of service dogs may be asked questions as recommended by the ADA to ensure the owner access to their service animal. The training a service animal receives distinguishes it from other animals and there may be questions about the training provided to the animal and service provided.
Emotional support animals, therapy animals, and other pets are not considered service animals and will not be granted entry to KHSAA events. In Kentucky, misrepresentation of an assistance animal is a violation with a fine up to $1000. The owner will be responsible at all times for the conduct of the service animal.
