FIRST OFF, I want to welcome everyone to the season. We have a program that is rich in tradition, and our elementary program is so good to introduce them to a sport they may continue with later. If not, at least we have had a part of them being healthy and competing. I will be sending some updates until I get Coach Tinker access to do so herself.
WE PLAN TO START PRACTICE THE WEEK OF AUGUST 14TH, THE FIRST WEEK OF SCHOOL. WE WILL RUN ON MONDAY, WEDNESDAY, FRIDAY UNLESS NOTIFIED OTHERWISE. PRACTICE WILL BE AT 3:45 AT HIGHLAND PARK, THE SECOND SHELTER. MIDDLE/HIGH SCHOOL USE THE FIRST SHELTER. WE DO THIS TO HAVE MORE ROOM. PRACTICE WILL BE NO MORE THAN AN HOUR. RUNNERS WILL LEARN TO PROPERLY STRETCH, BE A GOOD TEAMMATE, AND HOW FITNESS IS IMPORTANT THROUGH RUNNING. IN ADDITION, THIS SPORT IS GREAT TO SHOW KIDS HOW TO SET A GOAL, BUILDS SELF-ESTEEM, AND IS AN INCLUSIVE PLACE FOR ALL LEVELS OF FITNESS/ABILITY.
