Visual Art Journals

More than a Sketchbook

A Visual Art Journal is more than a collection of drawings and musings, it is a documentation of the artistic process. As students progress through the Visual Art program students learn how to document their unique artistic process while exploring art through art history, critique, studio time and research.

Visual Art 1

Visual Art 1 students primarily work based on prompts and exploration. Visual Art Journals are used in class for note taking and project planning.

Visual Art 2

Visual Art 2 students primarily work on research, media studies and conceptual development. Visual Art Journals are used for planning, note taking and overall documentation of the artistic process.

Visual Art 3

Visual Art 3 students primarily work on documenting their artist process. Brainstorming, research, reflection, critique and process imagery is included.
