Course ID: Mastery Band

The Denmark Wind Ensemble is our flagship concert ensemble. This group is an audition-only ensemble comprised of the finest wind and percussion students in the Denmark Band Program. This ensemble is recognized as one of the premier ensembles in the area, consistently earning superior ratings at Large Group Performance Evaluations performing collegiate-level wind band literature. 

The Denmark Wind Ensemble has performed at the 2025 Music for All Regional Concert Band Festival in Orlando, Florida and the 2026 Music for All Regional Concert Band Festival in Atlanta, Georgia. Most recently, the Denmark Wind Ensemble was awarded the 2024-2025 GMEA Exemplary Performance Award, which is the is the highest honor a total band program can receive in the state of Georgia. 

Students in this ensemble are expected to maintain the highest standards of individual development on their respective instruments. With a strong chamber music program, a large percentage of students successfully participate in the GMEA District 9 Solo and Ensemble Festival, as well as provide a significant annual presence in the District 9 High School Honor Bands and GMEA All-State Bands.
