CONCERT BAND

COURSE ID - INTERMEDIATE BAND

The Concert Band is an open-enrollment ensemble designed primarily for younger high school musicians who are continuing to develop the foundational skills necessary for successful ensemble performance. This course provides a supportive and growth-oriented environment where students build confidence as performers while strengthening their individual musicianship.Instruction focuses on the core fundamentals of instrumental music, including tone production, breath support, intonation, rhythm accuracy, ear training, scales, balance and blend, articulation, and overall musical literacy. 

The Concert Band experience emphasizes steady musical growth and encourages students to develop discipline, responsibility, and teamwork through daily rehearsals and performances. Repertoire is selected to reinforce fundamental concepts while gradually challenging students to expand their technical abilities, musical expression, and performance confidence. This ensemble serves as an important stepping stone for students as they continue progressing toward more advanced high school performing groups.
