SYMPHONIC BAND

COURSE ID - ADVANCED BAND

The Symphonic Band is an intermediate-level ensemble designed for developing high school musicians who are ready for increased musical and technical challenges. This group performs primarily Grade 4 literature, with select Grade 5 works introduced throughout the year to continue building advanced performance skills and musical maturity.

Instruction focuses on refining tone quality, intonation, rhythm accuracy, balance and blend, articulation, technique, and overall musicianship. Students continue developing strong rehearsal habits, musical independence, and ensemble awareness while exploring more complex and expressive repertoire.

The Symphonic Band provides students with opportunities for continued growth through rehearsals, concerts, and performance experiences that encourage confidence, discipline, teamwork, and artistic development as they prepare for higher-level ensembles.
