Values & Faith-Based Leadership Program
The Values & Faith-Based Leadership Program is offered to women belonging to minorities through a collaboration between the Institute of American Language and Culture (IALC) and the Graduate School of Religion and Religious Education (GRE) at Fordham University.
This bilingual (Spanish-English) program aims to provide participants with the theoretical and experiential tools that will enable them to hone their leadership and communication skills in English, which are essential to becoming agents of change in their communities and organizations.
The Values & Faith-Based Leadership Program has a duration of 10 months. The academic coursework and practicum are distributed in three academic periods: Summer, Fall, and Spring.
If accepted into the Program, participants will have the following commitments:
Attend class regularly and connect their values and faith with their leadership practice.
Complete assigned readings and participate in digital forums, presentations, and other academic products.
Foster authentic reflection on their experience, skills, strengths, and weaknesses as leaders.
Identify a community of service and commit to providing a period of volunteer service.
Accept the gift of being multilingual. Use both English and their first language to communicate their ideas.
Participate in a leadership support network/community.
Provide COVID-19 immunization proof for campus and practicum locations’ access.
Students admitted into the program will receive a 100% tuition scholarship for the duration of their studies. Those who complete the Values & Faith-Based Leadership Program will be awarded the following::
A certificate jointly endorsed by the Institute of American Language and Culture and the Graduate School of Religion at Fordham University.
Letters of reference and job recommendations from the Institute of American Language and Culture and the Graduate School of Religion at Fordham University.
