Individual Telehealth Counseling
How do I obtain services for my child?
To refer your child, simply send us an email with your name, phone number, and child's name. Our staff will contact you to schedule an intake appointment.
Counseling Details:
Ages: Children and adolescents, aged 8-17
Format: 10 sessions are provided virtually over zoom (ranging from 30 to 45 min.)*
Languages: English & Spanish
Goals: Develop coping skills in the COVID era
Our Counselors: Services are provided by graduate students in mental health counseling, counseling psychology or school psychology programs and supervised by a licensed social worker. Read more about all of the CCMH team members here.
Children and adolescents with more serious concerns that will not be resolved in 10 sessions should be referred to a mental health clinic where they can receive the treatment they require. This includedes significant depression, suicidality, self-harm, serious behavior concerns, or significant trauma.
*Additional sessions may be offered on a case by case basis
Requirements:
Due to grant limitations, families must meet the following criteria to receive free counseling:
Must live in or attend school in the Bronx
Between the ages of 8 and 17
Internet access and a private location for the child.
Children and adolescents will be expected to commit to weekly telehealth sessions.
Parents/guardians will need to make an appointment with us for a phone screening and have an intake appointment before we determine eligibility for services.
Parents/guardians will need to be available by phone during all weekly telehealth sessions and a caregiver will be required to be home for all younger children and for older children as determined by the clinician.

Our Counseling Model
CCMH counselors use various evidence-informed counseling techniques to provide short-term coping skills to thrive in school, with peers, and with family. Our philosophy is to collaborate and support the parent wherever possible - including the use of parent collateral sessions to support child outcomes.
