Historical Context

Wait, so how did this start?

The first vlog to ever be posted to YouTube was made by Adam  Kontras on January 2, 2000. Vlogs short for "video logs" are videos that share someone's everyday life and journey. Over time vlogs blew up all over YouTube. From morning routines, cooking, beauty, and everyday family life vlogging your life was a normal thing on the internet. The family vlogging genre became very popular in the mid-2000s and elevated from there. Channels include The Shaytards, The Daily Bumps, 8 Passengers, Ellie and Jared, and The Labrayant Family. A common pattern with these family vlogging channels is that they are located in the Mid-West or West, have a traditional family "look" (mom, dad, and kids) and they are Mormon.
