Life and Dignity of the Human Person

This theme explores and acknowledges the sanctity of human life and the idea that a moral society is built on the dignity of the individual.

Children in the foster care system are human beings, and the physical and mental abuse they encounter does not align with the teaching. Deuteronomy 10:17-18 says “For the Lord, your God, is the God of gods, the Lord of lords, the great God, mighty and awesome, who has no favorites, accepts no bribes, who executes justice for the orphan and the widow and loves the resident alien, giving them food and clothing”. Regarding the scripture above it shows the awareness of bringing justice, but also mentions the power of God and how no matter the person; his love is unconditional. The Church and modern Catholic Social Teaching are educating people that we should also show the love that Christ has shown to not only people in the Bible but that he also shows to us to this day, that no matter what condition a person may be his love remains the same.
