There are various ways in which students (groups or individuals) can volunteer on the ASC Greenway. Check out the volunteer opportunities.
This list of non-profit agencies in the York County Interagency Council or YCIC has all sorts of options for young people to do good things in the community. You may even discover some aspect of your future career in the process. Rock Hill School District keeps the list of volunteer opportunities updated for the community.
We have loads of things students can do with us, from marking storm drains, litter pick ups (roadway and creek-based) to helping us paint our stormwater mural in Kingsley next month! You can check out some of the opportunities on our volunteer website.

Volunteer with Seniors at an Independent Living Community in Indian Land. Greenway Square is a new community welcoming students as young as 14 years of age to volunteer in a variety of ways.
16- and 17-year-olds could volunteer with Gentiva in our branch office located at 223 S Herlong Suite 120 Rock Hill, SC.
At the office they can learn:
Writing Birthday and Holiday Cards to Patients
Organizing Admission Packets
Faxing documents to various Dr’s and facilities
Filing documents to assist with Patient Care Manager
Putting together Marketing bags for our Clinical Liaison
Organizing various office supplies closets
Answering the Phones to assist with triage
Preparing the mailings for bereavement and for the annual memorial service
And open to other related office tasks
18-year-olds have the additional opportunity volunteer directly with our patients by visiting with them in their homes whether they live in a nursing home, independent living or in their own home. (This is often our most desired volunteer from patient families)
All volunteers do need to participate in a background check, a drug screening, a tb test, and training with myself. Volunteers that would go into patients’ homes would also be supervised their first time, to create a safe environment for the patient and volunteer.
