Your teachers' contact information can be found on each course announcement/home page under their picture.

• Phone Call - If you reach our voicemail, please leave a message and be sure to leave your name and number to return your call.

• Text - Be sure to include your name. 

• Email - Students, use your Educator school email instead of your personal email. 

• Zoom - When joining the teacher's zoom room, be sure to your full name when you enter Zoom to receive participation for attendance.

Open communication between you and your teachers is a vital part of your success here at Florida Virtual Middle School.  A partnered commitment to two-way communication is essential to your student's success.  

• It is an expectation that teachers will return contact within 24 business hours.

• It is an expectation that parents, guardians, and students will return or reply to communication in a timely manner. 

• It is an expectation that parents, guardians, and students will inform teachers of any contact information changes.

Welcome Call with the Homeroom Teacher

• The first contact you will have with your homeroom teacher is a Welcome Call.  

• This call is to be completed with both the student and a parent/guardian before the first day of school and allow your family and the Homeroom Teacher to get to know one another and ensure you have what you need to get started. 

• During this call, it is important to speak to your child's teacher about any specific information you want them to know about your child. 

Monthly Calls with the Homeroom Teacher

• Another type of call you will be having regularly with your homeroom teacher is the required monthly call to review student progress. 

• During the monthly call, homeroom teachers will be going over your child's grades in all six courses with student AND parent/guardian.  

• It is not only a requirement, but also an important opportunity to celebrate successes, address any concerns, and offer additional support. 

• Communication with your homeroom teacher is not limited to this monthly call; you are welcome to contact your homeroom teacher by phone, text, or email Monday-Friday 8:30-4:30 with any questions.
