Welding & Sheet Metal

Students can expect to cover basic knowledge to function safely on or around a construction site and in the industry as well as providing experiences which cover the fundamentals of various metal occupations for the purpose of preparing them to select either welding, sheet metal, or machining for more highly specialized training in subsequent courses. Furthermore, these courses will  provide students with the basic knowledge and safe operating skills needed to demonstrate proper set of equipment in oxyfuel, shielded metal arc welding (SMAW), and gas metal arc welding (GMAW). 

Students completing these courses can pursue various careers in the metal industry, such as welders, sheet metal workers, machinists, and fabricators
