My name is Cera (pronounced Sarah) McCord and this will be my fourteenth year teaching at Frankton Elementary. I am originally from Seymour, Indiana but moved to Frankton to be with my husband who was born and raised on a large farming and livestock hauling operation just outside of town. Together we have a six year old son named Houston, a two year old daughter named Faith, and a very sweet boxer and labrador mix named Dixie. We enjoy attending truck shows with our semis and traveling to new places. I completed my bachelors degree at Indiana University where I was a four year member of the IU dance team. Later on I obtained my master's degree in curriculum and instruction. I enjoy all things country western especially Dolly Parton. If I could live anywhere it would be somewhere out west. I place an emphasis on creating a team like relationship with parents, being the "fun" teacher, and creating genuine connections with my students. I am truly looking forward to getting to know your student this year. Some of my favorites include:

Welcome! I am thrilled to be your child's teacher this year! We're in for an incredible journey of learning and growth together.
A bit about me: This marks my 20th year in teaching. I earned my bachelor's degree in elementary education from Ball State University (chirp chirp!), and later pursued a master's degree in curriculum and instruction. My husband and I met at BSU, and this summer we celebrated our 22nd wedding anniversary. We have three wonderful children who keep us on our toes: Haylee, 20, just graduated from BSU Radiography program; Blake, 17, is a senior; and Brody, 13, is starting eighth grade this year. Our family also includes an adorable three year old Goldendoodle named Ginger. We love cheering on our kids in their sports activities and cherish our family time together.
First Grade will be packed with fun, learning, and new friendships. I hope you had a fantastic summer, and I'm eager to get to know each of you better this year!

Hello! I am so excited to welcome you and your child to my class this year. A little about me, I graduated from Ball State University with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education and a minor in psychology and counselling. I have been teaching with FLCS for 19 years now. I have taught kindergarten, first grade, and third grade. Although I love the experience it has given me, my heart definitely belongs in first grade. I have been happily married for fourteen years and blessed with three wonderful children. Alana is 20 and will be starting her third year of college at IUK. Ella is 12 years old and will be a big seventh grader this year. Liam is 6 and will be starting first grade this year. We also have two very spoiled dogs named Sophie and Luna. They all definitely keep us busy. We love having fun together and spending time as a family. I am excited to get this school year started and get to know all of you very soon!

I went on to receive my master´s degree from Ball State as well. This is my 18th year at Frankton Elementary. I am married to my husband, Travis. We have a 6-year-old son, Grayson, and a 2-year-old daughter, Mara. We have a black lab, Jax. We enjoy traveling to different baseball stadiums and attending Colts games. We also love spending our free time outside, taking walks, and fishing. I am so excited to be your child’s teacher this school year!
