Service-Learning

“The motivating force of the theory of a democratic way of life is still a belief that as individuals we live cooperatively, and to the best of our ability, serve the community in which we live, and that our own success, to be real, must contribute to the success of others.” -Eleanor Roosevelt

Leadership: Translating understanding into action in one’s daily life and in the community. Community may include friends, family, peers, and local and global groups of people and organizations. The experiences at FALA, including an emphasis on service-learning, build confidence, understanding, empathy, and communication, empowering students to be leaders in their lives and the world.
