The Parent Seminar Series at Floresville ISD Central Office will be offered throughout the 2022-2023 year to parents addressing mental health and wellness topics presented by leaders in our community.

9/19/22 A presentation from Laurel Ridge Community Liaison Clarissa Zamora that is both entertaining and highly educational will be held. Ms. Zamora is an expert in all things mental health and children. She will share that expertise with us related especially to children experiencing Anxiety. If you have ever been concerned that your child might be experiencing anxiety and want to know more about how to identify signs and symptoms and get help when needed, this will be an excellent presentation for you.

10/24/22 A presentation from the experts at Ransomed Life on how you as parents can keep your child safe from predators, both in every day life and online. Ransomed Life's No Child Sold campaign teaches families to recognize the signs of human trafficking and how to intervene and report them and keep our children safe.

11/14/22 Connally Memorial Hospital will provide free CPR certification training to community members wishing to become CPR certified. Everyone should know CPR, it can save a life.

1/23/23 A Car Seat Safety Clinic will be presented by the Texas Agrilife Extension office. Ms. Nicole Demmer will teach parents safe installation of car seats and distribute free car seats to families in need.

2/27/23 A presentation on Healthy Relationships will be provided by Ms. Hannah Klug of the Guadalupe Valley Family Violence Center. This presentation is for parents and their teens to attend. This workshop will help parents and teens identify what constitutes a healthy relationship and signs that a relationship may be unhealthy and what to do to address that. Building strong teens who know their worth is the goal. Loving involved parents can learn to begin the conversation that helps keep their children safe and strong in all their relationships.

3/20/23 Stop the Bleed training will be presented by Connally Memorial Hospital. In this day and age, we are all concerned about how to respond if those around us were injured in an attack. But also, what if we encounter a car or motorcycle accident, something on the job that causes a major wound? Would you know what to do? Stop the Bleed is a lifesaving training that equips us with the skills we need to respond in the event of an emergency.

4/17/23 Families Play Together will be presented by FISD Social Services Department licensed clinicians to teach Mind Body Skills for emotional regulation and CARE skills. CARE is a parenting resource that helps us boost our children's self-esteem, catch our kids being good, set limits and be consistent with discipline, make time for our families and be good role models.
