The Military Child Education Coalition provides digital resources for students, parents, and education professionals in multiple formats: videos, webinars, and downloadable documents free of charge. These resources address topics such as school transitions, deployments, and navigating change.

The Yellow Ribbon Reintegration Program (YRRP) is a Department of Defense (DoD) effort to promote the well-being of National Guard and Reserve members, their families, and communities by connecting them with resources throughout the deployment cycle.


Confidential non-medical counseling sessions are available through the Military and Family Life Counseling Program at installations worldwide and through Military OneSource. These sessions provide service members and their loved ones with resources and support to address a variety of issues and build important skills to tackle life’s challenges. Resources are available to support educators with addressing the needs of military connected students during this time.

The Military Child Education Coalition has created a series of online video modules that focus on: • How to support families with providing at-home instruction during COVID-19 closures. • Online video modules developed to assist parents with targeted issues. • Practical strategies for success, sharing developmentally appropriate information, and guided practice through helpful exercises and tools. A Department of Defense website which helps military-connected children ages 6-17 build resilience and coping skills as they adjust to the challenges of military life.

Military Resources and Programs

Child and Youth Behavioral Military Family Life Counselors, CYB-MFLC

  • CYB-MFLC’s offer private and confidential non-medical counseling at no charge to children and family members of active duty, National Guard, Reserve, Department of Defense Civilians, and school staff.

  • They are located on military installations and off-site within public school campuses.

  • Contact your School Liaison Officer or school campus to determine if there is a CYB-MFLC available.

The Exceptional Family Member Program (EFMP)

  • EFMP is available to active-duty Army, Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps, National Guard, and Reserve service members when a family member has special needs.

  • They are located on military installations and offer help with: navigating and educating families about ARD, IEPs, and 504 process, help organize paperwork, prepare families for meetings, address concerns, and help resolve issues.


Endeavors is a Military Family clinic that offers: Rental/Utility Payment, Assistance Obtaining VA Benefits and Services, Mental Health Resources, Access to Substance Abuse Programs, Job Placement Assistance, Skills and Parenting Workshops, Assistance with Other Public Benefits.

These are all offered regardless of current status or discharge status in the military to support active members, former members and their families.
