Service learning provides authentic learning experiences that help our students grow into adaptable, socially responsible global citizens. Projects at FIS support both the local community and people around the globe.
We believe that everyone has a responsibility to contribute positively to society and the environment, and our students take pride in their service work – always learning along the way how they can have a positive impact in our world.
While many of the school's service learning projects have been active in the school for many years, students are trying more and more to connect with our local community, as well as other areas around the world.
Student groups are student-driven and led and they generate events and activities to support their cause. Some of the groups are fundraising groups. They usually set an annual goal or specific goal depending on their cause. Their funds are sent to designated organizations where they have direct communication and/or talk with them about where their funds will be used.

Each morning in the bulletin you will see when the groups meet on that day, you can access information in this site Service Groups at FIS (more details) and you can see each group's information on the main service wall in the Stroth center and from their individual bulletin boards in the main building.
