Prompt: If you could spend one day with a Biblical person, possibly one from your favorite Bible story who would it be? What would you do during your day together? Where would you go? What would you talk about?
Spending a day with a Biblical Character
By: David Daniels
If I had the choice to spend one day with any Biblical character, then I would likely choose David. The fact that he has the same name is pretty self-explanatory. The actual reason why I would choose David is because first of all, I would love to learn more about what it was like during the time of the Bible. Second of all, it would be fun to learn about the Biblical character David himself. I don’t know anybody that has met any Biblical people so it would be an interesting experience.
If I got to spend the day with David from the Bible then we would have a talk about what his life was like, go on a walk, and just hang out. Once I got to meet David then we would go to the park. I would also ask questions like: how did it feel to defeat Goliath, what did you do as king, and what were your favorite things to do? So those are some examples. In summary, if I could choose then it would be David.
If I Could Meet Mary
By: Natalie Dierkes
If I could meet Mary I would meet her when Jesus was born. I have always wanted to meet Mary and ask what it was like when the angel was talking to her. I would want to go back to her time. I think it would be cool because I cannot go back in time, but I can live for the future. During our day I would want to go on a long walk in the town of Bethlehem.
I would ask what it was like knowing people would come after your son. What was the hardest thing about raising the Son of God? Was it easy to raise the Son of God? What was the worst thing Jesus ever did as a child? Once Jesus got older, did he help you with your daily struggles?
Meeting Mary
By: Taylor Doherty
Mary: How old were you when you conceived Jesus? I was about 14 years old and had the best day of my life. I wanted to ask her many questions about how it was and what her least favorite thing about being a teen mom is. I decided it was her day off, and she may not want to be bothered. So, we spent the day out going to the market and having fun!
Once we came back I saw Joseph and that was cool! There was nothing more I wanted to do than to be like are you okay? Because Megan Moroaney taught us to ask ourselves that. I thought that she had been going through a rough time. Joseph had wanted to get a divorce then stuck in the marriage and Jesus ran away! Good thing he was in the church! That is what I would do with Mary.
Esther
By: Lennon Forston
I would choose Esther. We would first go to the royal gardens of Susa, a place full of beauty. I would think the gardens would be peaceful for conversations. Then I would visit the palace itself, probably the throne room too, and talk about her time and the challenges she faced as queen.
We would talk about faith and decision-making. I would think it’s so cool to talk about what she has done like save her people, and how she managed the complex dynamics of the Persian Court. I would also want to listen to her relationship with Mordecai. The questions I would ask her are: what were her greatest fears and doubts during the crisis? How did she overcome them? How did you (Esther) maintain your faith and hope amidst the uncertainty and danger?
A Day with Esther
By: Brinley Kison
If I had to pick anyone to meet from the Bible, it would be Esther. I would like to meet Esther because she was a brave Jew who saved the lives of her people before the king. I would go back to the past to meet her because I would love to see what it was like to be living before Christ was born. We would first go to the king and see his palace. Then we would meet the people in Susa, like Daniel and Nehemiah.
We would talk about my age versus her age. If I were to ask her any questions, it would be, "Did Vashiti die from falling out of the castle?" "What did you feel like when you were picked to be queen?" Another thing we would do is go to a farm and maybe a market. She influences me to stand up for friends, family, and even strangers. It would be the most amazing experience to spend a day with this legend from the Bible.
Meeting Joseph
By: Charlie Linscott
I would ask Joseph, what was it like when you found out Mary was pregnant? Did you want to have Jesus initially? I would be in Joseph's time. If you were in my time, what would you do?
If I took you to my time, I would like you to see how many churches there are. I want you to see my school, my friends and my teachers. Would you like to see my school? Did you like it? Then I would say goodbye to Joseph.
My Day With David
By: Ellie Campbell
I would like to spend a day with David from the Goliath story. I would tell him that he was under God’s power for a little bit, which was so special for him, and I would have loved to be there with him. I would ask him how he trusted God so much because I probably couldn’t in that situation. I would also ask him how big exactly Goliath was. Then I would ask how hard it was to get a good aim, and how he knew where to hit him.
I would take him out to my favorite place, The Java House, and let him try some coffee. I would tell him how all my siblings sometimes feel like a Goliath to me ;). I would then take him to the park and teach him how to play tag. I would surprise tag him and then do this for a while. I would ask him how life was back then and then I would give him some facts about my life now. I would drive him back to the airport and thank him for the best day ever.
A Day With Esther

If I could pick one Bible character to spend a day with, I would definitely choose Esther. She is such a brave character who sets such a good example for girls to stand up for themselves and the people that they care about, trust God, and not be afraid. She is my favorite character in the Bible because she is so inspiring and interesting to learn about. She was also one of the characters that I first learned about when I was a lot younger. I would love to spend the day with her.
There would be so much to do in so little time that I wouldn’t know where to start! First, we would just hang out in her palace and talk and get all these beauty treatments like facials and getting our nails done. Then we would just chill and talk. Next, we’d go shopping and get Starbucks. After that, we’d return to her palace, and she’d show me what being a queen was like. All of her responsibilities, how to handle people, and the easy and harder things of being the next highest power to the king in a huge territory. I think spending a day with someone who is so brave, kind, and can teach me so much, like Esther, would be so fun to spend the day with.
Being with Joseph
By: Reid Downs
I would bring Joseph to my world. It would be very different from his world. We have computers. We have cars. We have big buildings. He has wagons pulled by horses. We have some but they are not everywhere.
He would have to adapt to the different surroundings. It is a bigger world. He lived in a little country in Israel. We are in the US, which is a much bigger country. He was alive in a different time. The food was different. Everything was much different.
My Day With Mary
By: Celia Grove
If I could spend one day with anyone in the Bible, I would choose Mary, the mother of Jesus. We would go to the stable that Jesus was born in and see the manger he laid in. Then, we would go to a trampoline park for some of the day. We would then proceed to go to lunch at the Chocolate Factory. After we ate our sandwiches, we would get ice cream and walk around Cedarburg and go to all the shops.
After we went to all the shops, we would go to the movies. After the movie, we would go to my house to play board games. We would go to my basement and play ping-pong against each other. The question I would ask is, “Did you know who God was before you gave birth to Jesus?” I would tell her that it is so cool that she was chosen to give birth to our king. That is who I would want to spend my day with from the Bible.
Jonah
By: Annabelle Grows
I would choose Jonah because I would have so many questions for him. I thought the story of Jonah was so cool, and it would be fun to ask him how his experience was in the whale. It would be such a fun time, and I could learn a lot of new things. It would be so exciting to know you get to hang out with Jonah! I would be super happy if I were actually able to hang out with Jonah because he was in a whale, and that would be cool to know about.
Things I would like to do with Jonah is go to an escape room because that’s a good bonding and entertaining experience. Another thing I would like to do is go on go-karts with Jonah. I feel like that would be super fun and memorable. I love go-karting. One other thing I would like to do with Jonah is mini golf; it would be really cool at night. I think that it would be so cool to hang out with Jonah. I wish I could learn so much about him and know more about his story.
David
By: Kiala Gundrum
I chose David from David and Goliath. If I were to spend a day with David, I would use this time to get caught up on all the specific details from their time. Also, anything he does during the day. I would get breakfast with him at PJ Pipers so that he could have the best breakfast experience ever. After that, we would go to a trampoline park so he could get used to modern-day activities.
After the trampoline park, we would go to the Cheesecake Factory because it’s one of my favorite places to go. We would get the famous cheesecake and he would probably never want to leave. I would make him leave because I knew he would want to go to an archery range to work on his aim. He would do great and beat me because if he could wack someone in the eye from 100 feet away, he could probably aim an arrow about 50 feet away. That is what I would do with David if I had a day with him.
My Day Back Then
By: Isaiah Hall
So, the person I’d pick would be Peter because then I could teach him how to skate. Then the world back then would think it was interesting, and then it would be a world sensation. I would teach him how to make a burger, and then we can make a restaurant called Pizza PI. The PI stands for Peter and Isaiah, and it is like pizza PIE. Then, we would go out and talk about each other.
All right, let's get to one of the bigger reasons I’d pick Peter. I can see Jesus! So we would eat some Pizza PI burgers, get a closer relationship, and become good friends with all the other disciples. Finally, at the end of the day, I would hug everyone and tell the whole story to my class.
Meeting Noah
By: Kennedy Hiller
It was back in Moses's time when he was on the ark. It was the day he went on the ark with all the animals. He was loading all the animals in pairs of two with his family members. He was ready to start going, but he almost forgot me! I was one of his descendants. We were sailing along but suddenly a huge storm hit! God already told us about His plan, but we thought we would be fine. Our boat got washed to shore, but everyone was safe and not injured.
I was super scared and didn't know what was happening. Then I saw a dove that the Lord had sent, and it was a beautiful sight!
I kept on questioning, ¨What is going on?¨
To my surprise, we saw a beautiful rainbow! It was super big and lit up the whole sky. Moses knew this was a sign from God. We praised God and worshiped after that day and know God is with us always!
My Day with King Xerxes
By: Brady Kroening
My name is King Xerxes. I'm a wealthy king. That's my party you will not not have fun at because I am the richest Kingdom and king of all time. There's only five poor people in my kingdom, and I want them to stay alive. So, I made them and took them out of poverty and now they're all in mega mansions. They loved me before they hated me but now they love me.
Now, my friend has come and let's go see my castle. Well, you can see it from here but I have a whole temple designed for me. Everybody loves me and worships me but I worship one true God now because of one guy named David. It's a long story but he told me that if I believe in Jesus everything will be okay. So, I believed!

My Day With Joseph
By: Owen Sullivan
If I could spend one day with anyone from the Bible, I would spend it with Joseph. I would choose Joseph because even though he was betrayed by his family, God still helped him make it good. I would start the day by asking him what life was like in Israel and Egypt. Then I’ll ask him to show me around his favorite places. I’d also ask him to tell me what it was like to be the Pharoh’s advisor of the famine.
For our day, we would go see the palace in Egypt, and Joseph would introduce me to Pharaoh. We would also go see the food supply that he takes care of. I’d ask him if I could see the beautiful rainbow coat that his dad gave him. I would also talk to him about what it was like being able to interpret dreams through God. I would ask him how hard it was to forgive his brothers. That’s what I would do during my day with Joseph.
