Prompt: If you could spend one day with a Biblical person, possibly one from your favorite Bible story who would it be? What would you do during your day together? Where would you go? What would you talk about?
Moses
By Will Dykstra
If I could choose any Biblical figure, I would choose Moses. He is one of my favorite people in the Bible, and meeting him would probably mean I would see Jesus. I would have so many questions to ask him, such as what it felt like walking through the Red Sea. How it felt to lead all of the Israelites, and so many more. During the day I would have him walk me around the city. I would also beg for him to split the Red Sea and have me walk across it.
Me and Moses would talk about all the miracles he had witnessed, and all of the miracles he performed. I would also be thrilled to have him teach me more of the Bible. I would also want him to make my relationship with Jesus better. Next, I would play basketball with Moses because basketball was not a thing back then. Finally, I would try to remember what he told me, and I would spread the Gospel.
Meeting Moses
By: Ben Bubolz
I would go to the temple to worship God with him in praise. I would go with him to follow him to the promised land. I would follow him daily to hear him preach his word. I would ask if he could give me a whole lecture on how to pray to God properly or the way I should do it. I want to see him go up the mountain to get the 10 commandments.
I would walk with the Israelites and help Moses preach God's words. I think that if I help him he could trust me to lead a small group to the promised land. Then I would help him believe that the water from the stone will come out by itself, not by him stabbing his staff into the rock. I will tell him to wait for the water to come out. Then if he listens to my word he will be able to go to the promised land.
Meeting Mary
By: Olivia Hartline
If I could meet someone from the Bible, I would meet Mary. I would choose Mary because I would have a lot of questions to ask her. For example, I would ask her what it was like to have an angel appear to her and tell her she was going to have a baby? Another question I would ask her would be what was it like to have your child die on the cross to save everyone so they could go to heaven to live eternally? I would ask her about what she did as a child and what it was like back then, where there wasn’t much technology like they have today.
I would take her to a barn to show her what might be different and see if there was something similar. I would take her to lunch and show her the variety of food choices. It would be on a Sunday and I would take her to church. We would praise God. If it was nice outside, I would go on a walk with her and we would get to see God’s beautiful creation. If it was rainy or cold outside, I would take her to the movies and we would watch one about her, the Bible, or the birth of Jesus. Afterwards we would say what wasn’t true and what was. That’s what I would do with Mary.
Meeting Joseph
By: Eli Helgeson
I would go to church with him and see how he did it before he had Jesus and after he had Jesus. We would have dinner together and I would ask what he ate. I would ask what Jesus' personality was like? I would ask how long it took him and Mary to find him when they left him at the festival? I would ask him what it was like where he traveled and what his first job was?
When did you first meet Mary and when the angel came to her and when it came to you? How old was Jesus when he was crucified and what feelings did you have when he died? We would talk about how Mary was doing on their way to Bethlehem, and if they almost died on the way. Why did you choose a donkey instead of a camel because they are better to go through the desert? Why did you come up with the idea to go into a stable?
Bringing Abraham to the Future
By: Dominic Bublitz
I would take Abraham to the modern-day. He would love to see how his family has grown. I would go to almost every country to show him in all the places we have discovered so far. I would ask him what he thinks about the world today and if we need to change our daily lives to be better for God.
We would go to the beaches of the Bahamas to the freezing Antarctica. We would go almost everywhere on that day. If I could bring Abraham to the modern world, that would be great.
Me and Esther’s Day
By: Ella Beadle
I would choose to spend the day with the Bible character Esther. Esther has an awesome backstory and I think talking to her would be interesting because she has had a lot of fascinating things happen to her in her lifetime. We would go shopping, maybe get our nails done, go hang out in the coffee shop, and talk about life! We would go to the mall, Bella Lei, Saukville Movie theaters, and Coffee Roastery in downtown Cedarburg! It would be really fun to get to know one of my favorite Bible story characters by doing fun things that hopefully Esther and I would enjoy. Also, because she is a queen, I think she would enjoy getting pampered!
We would talk about the hard experiences she's had, as well as her husband, the King, and her uncle, Morde Cai. We would also talk about how luxurious it is to live in a palace and how good the food is! I would also talk to her about how weird all the modern technology is to her, especially cars and phones! Here are some questions I would ask her. How did you feel God working throughout your life? Do you enjoy your husband's presence or not? What do you think of your uncle? On a scale of 1-10, how nervous were you to go talk to the King without him summoning you? What do you think of this modern-day world? How well were you treated as a queen? Lastly, did you hate or like the year of beauty treatments you went through before meeting the King? Overall, I think Esther seems like a super cool Bible character and I would love to get to know her!
Hi, Mary.
By: Addy Metzig
If I could go back to meet someone in the Bible, I would choose Mary (Jesus's mother). I would want to go back in time and meet her when Jesus was four years old. I would see what they did every day if she had a job, and how she taught baby Jesus. I would also see what Mary and Joseph ate. I would see what their house would look like.
I would ask how scared she was when she heard that she was going to give birth in a stable. I would also ask her what they did for her wedding. I think it would be so cool to meet her because she had the most important baby ever. I would also ask if at first she liked the name Jesus. That's why I would choose Mary.
A Day With Esther
By: Ellie Paape
To start my day with Esther I would take her into the future. That way she can see what impact she had on the world. We would go to the city where she once governed and then get some amazing food. We would talk about God and have great conversations with each other. We would also talk about the new inventions they didn’t have and how they would impact their life.
We would go on the train or on a plane traveling places she would never have gone in her life. I would ask detailed questions about history that otherwise I would have never known about. I would tell her what's going to happen in her future. To end our day we would say our goodbyes and she would leave to go back to her time with some new inventions in her bag as a souvenir.
Meeting Moses
By: Arvin Brader
I would choose Moses. He would be close to God. I would ask him what it's like speaking to God. I would show him around the present day. We might get lunch too.
It would be fun because it would be amazing to see how he was living. It would be fun to see his reaction to this present day. Showing him video games would be cool. It would just be interesting.
My Day With Darius
By Julian Brockdorf
If I could hang out with someone from the Bible, I would hang out with King Darius. He is honestly a chill guy, and he’s rich, so I could eat and enjoy myself all day. I could also be an emotional support slave/friend when he has Daniel thrown into the lions’ den. Afterwards, we could go get some bread and water and have a nice feast because Darius was also just a chill guy. Once Daniel gets out, we could all chill together and eat some bread and meat. Then Daniel, Darius, and I are just some chill guys.
I would probably ask King Darius what it was like to be royalty and what it was like in the daily life of a person back then. We’d maybe take an adventure through the kingdom, or watch some people perform, or just walk around. I would probably want to see some landmarks in the city, or see some fine artifacts. When the sky would become dark, I would say goodbye and be on my way. It would be cool to spend a day with King Darius.
One Day With Mary
By: Zoey Davis
I would choose Mary to be the one person to spend my day with. I feel very bad for her because, at a young age, because she had to find out that she was having a baby. That would be very hard to do just as a kid. Also, when she had raised her son, and he was just over 30, he was crucified. I can’t believe that she had to live with that. I’m sure that they were very close. I want to spend time with her and talk with her.
I would want to talk to her about what it was like to live with Jesus, and what it was like when she had to say goodbye to him. I would listen to her and maybe go out to lunch to talk.
The Fearless Man
By: Ivy Hougom
If I could choose anyone to spend a day with, I'd choose Daniel. I'd go with him to an escape room because I know he wouldn't be scared. He was in a cage with lions after all! Afterward, we’d probably eat at a restaurant. There, I would ask him all the questions I have for him since I have a lot to ask about his experiences. I can’t wait to hear about how he felt after all of these tragic events.
I would ask Daniel how he felt in the lion's den. If I were in there, I would be frightened and probably pass out. I would also ask him what the weirdest dream was that he interpreted since he could interpret dreams. I would also like to understand how he found out that he had this power. That is how I would spend my one day with Daniel.
My Day With Esther
By: Kenzie Johnson
If I could pick someone from the Bible, it would be Esther. I would pick Esther because she is a courageous girl, like me. She stood up for her people, risking her life. We would visit the castles in Germany, because they are beautiful, like her and me. We would visit where the kingdom of Xerxes was because that is where she decided to talk to the king when she would get killed.
We would discuss how she did courageous things by standing up for the Jews. I would ask her if going up in front of the king was really scary. I would tell her that history could’ve changed if she hadn’t stood up to Haman. The Jews could’ve stayed in Persia if Xerxes hadn’t let them go. I would also tell her that she is the bravest woman ever. She could’ve gotten killed, but she didn’t, and she managed to help let the Jews go.
Noah and the Ark
By: Leah Kelley
If I could spend a day with a Biblical person, I would spend it with Noah. I would see the ark he built and lived on, with all of the animals. We could maybe even go to lunch. We would talk about how it was on the ark.
Some questions I would ask would be: how were the animals on the ark? How was it building the ark? Or, how it felt being one out of the few asked to go on the ark? I think it would be very cool to be able to talk to and spend a day with him. That's what I would do if I could spend a day with Noah.
My Day with Jonah
By: Conrad Noffke
First, I would begin in his life, and I would be with him when God talked to him. This would be an awesome experience because nobody can talk face-to-face with God anymore. Then, we would be in the whale’s belly when he didn’t listen to God. This would also be awesome because I would be experiencing my favorite Bible story.
I would ask Jonah how it felt always being connected to God. I would also ask God why he doesn’t send prophets anymore. Then I would go to Nineveh and help him with his messages. Then after his messages, I would ask him for repentance as that is what he said to the people of Nineveh. Finally, I would be able to experience what the sailors on the ship with him felt like. I would do this because I wonder what it would be like to see someone jump out of a boat, get swallowed by a whale, and after all that make a storm stop because he jumped out.
Meeting Noah and the Ark
By: Audriana Viglietta
If I could go back in time and meet a Biblical character, I would choose Noah. I love the ark and all the animals in it. I would ask him what it was like in the ark, and exactly how many total animals were on the ark. We would go to the zoo and I would ask him what animals were animals. Another question I would ask is what was his favorite animal on the ark?
It would be fun to talk about how he built the ark and what plans God told him. It would be so much fun to meet Noah's whole family. I would ask his whole family which animal was their favorite. I would love to meet him and his whole family. I would love to talk about his relationship with God and how God worked through him. That’s why I would love to meet Noah!
