What is Floral?

Floral is a career development event (think of a florist) that helps develop skills including:

• bouquet design

• corsage and boutonniere design

• flower and plant identification 

• pest and disease management, identification 

• propagation 

• and problem solving.

What are competitions like?

With all of the practice done throughout the year, you get to show off your knowledge at competitions! Competitions cover all of the bulleted skills, and after a few “practice” competitions we get to go to state!

What is State like for Floral Design?

To simply put it, it is the highest level of competition for Floral outside of Nationals. We will take an overnight trip to attend, and have lots of practice. Same skills needed, but by then you will have 3+ practice competitions under your belt!
