Welcome to our digital reading goals progress monitoring tool. Through Book It accounts, graciously provided by our fabulous PTO, all fifth-grade students will be setting individual reading goals and tracking progress this school year. By reading at school with teachers as well as at home with self-selected titles, students are encouraged to read and complete 5-7 chapter books every nine weeks.
In our experience as educators, we have observed that students make greater gains in reading, writing, and math skills with the at-home practice of skills presented in class. To this end, we provide reading-writing logs and IXL skill practice codes on a weekly basis. This gives students and families flexibility within the week to practice skills as needed.
We have been purposeful in selecting skills that your child can complete independently. Additionally, if you find that your child is not reading a book at home at his/her independent reading level, feel free to guide him/her in re-selecting a book, as you know your child best. Also, if IXL skill codes are ever tough to complete, students have been encouraged to search similar skills in lower grade levels and shown how to do so here at school.

Welcome to your online classroom! This year students will be joining and activly managing taks and learning objectives via Google classroom. Using this valuable online platform, teachers in all content areas will be sharing and collaborating with you to enhance our learning journey. Be sure to share your learning artifacts at home.
