Using pieces of wood, I decided to make a cross. Although a cross may not be the difficult piece to make, I used the talents given to me for 3-D art to make something that is not only beautiful, but also meaningful. Art is meant to be beautiful, and there is nothing more beautiful than the Passion of Christ. It may not be the most aesthetically pleasing piece, and it will never be looked at with a sense of wonder by others, but when I look at it I do get a certain feeling, which is what I set out to accomplish. I have no doubt that I’ll keep this piece in my room for many years to come, reminding me not of Christ’s great sacrifice, but also that when in doubt, all I have to do is return to God.
