FRAMEWORK JEOPARDY

One consistent ask from our community is for more frameworks that can be applied throughout the feedback loop and in support of their specific listening process. While the Feedback Loop provides a scaffold that can be generally applied within any type of organization and for different listening goals, our community was seeking frameworks and strategies that could be adopted at specific stages of the Feedback Loop, responsive to their organization's unique contexts. We, too, value responsiveness. So, we responded to our community's need with a fun way to learn about possible frameworks that can be used to strengthen their listening and feedback processes.
However, we did not want to provide just a list; we wanted to make the discovery of new frameworks fun! We created Framework Jeopardy as a gamified way for you and your organization to explore different frameworks as a team.
In this version of Jeopardy, you will be quizzed on your current feedback framework knowledge and discover new frameworks along the way...oh, and have some team fun. Framework Jeopardy organizes a collection of listening and feedback frameworks and strategies into categories aligned with the different phase of the Feedback Loop, with answers including all kinds of ways to interact meaningfully with constituents and community.
Before the game starts, review this quick checklist to set up for success:
Open gameboard and slides to ensure they function well
Decide on team sizes (based on group size)
Prepare buzzer system (if you have one)
Select point counter to keep track of points earned
Have timer ready to set for designated game time
Provide the answer key to your teams. This includes a combination of correct and incorrect answers for your players to choose from.

Team size
We recommend playing in teams if your group is larger than 3 people.
Answering system
Teams can answer one of two ways:
Everyone on the team gets a chance to answer (allow up to 10 seconds for each person's attempt)
The team must agree on one answer (allow 30+ seconds for discussion)
Game is best played with buzzers to indicate which team will answer first
Can be actual buzzers if in person, a Zoom reaction if virtual, etc.
If buzzers are not available, we recommend having the team that controls the board answer first
Point earning
Points are earned for correct answers. Points reflect the dollar value of the question that is answered correctly.
Game flow
Start by deciding which team will go first by flipping a coin (or another fun challenge)
Team selects the category and point value question they'd like to identify
Game director reads the selected card outloud
Teams review answer key and provide correct answer to game director
If correct, the same team gets another turn
If incorrect, the next team gets to answer
If no team correctly guesses, no points are awarded
Game master shows answer, then moves to slideshow to share more information on the framework/strategy (no more than 10 seconds)
Then, play again!
Note: Your group will likely not get through the whole board in 40 minutes. This is a recommended timeframe. If you'd like to play a longer or shorter game, you are more than welcome.
In the theme of feedback, take dedicated time to debrief with your team
Collect and document highlights and suggestions for improvement
Share out slides to participants for further framework learning
We hope this gamification was fun for you and your organization! If you played, we'd love to hear your feedback.
This is a living resource, meant to be edited as we learn with our community. If you have any freameworks you think would be good to add, please email us at membership@feedbacklabs.org and share your ideas. Who knows . . . you may see it on the board next time you play!
