The FCPS Virtual Academy will be open to students in grades K through 12. Interested students/families should submit an application (available March 1, 2024-May 1, 2024 for the 2024-2025 School Year). Students must be accepted through the application process in order to enroll in the FCPS Virtual Academy.

The FCPS Virtual Academy opened in August of 2021.
Information about the 2024-2025 application process will be available for students and families in March of 2024.

We will be using the Virtual Virginia Platform and students will be engaged through a combination of synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences.

Yes, since they are still enrolled in FCPS, they are eligible for participation in school activities.

FCPS will provide devices to students. Families must certify that they have adequate internet connectivity.

FCPS continues to offer workshops in online teaching methodologies and the Canvas LMS (learning management system).

For the 2024-2025 School Year, the elementary students will not be receiving county level GT services.
Will honors courses be available?
FCPS will offer a broad catalog of courses to include honors courses as much as possible. The final course offerings will be based on course requests.
