In year two we focus on Career & College Readiness while touching on these 5 areas: Resumes, College Research, Scholarships, Career Research, and Interviews. If students choose to further their education at the college level, we discuss many options and our program offers articulated credits to certain post-secondary programs around the country. Articulated credits are credits that are able to transfer to another institution. In specific, the CTC Culinary and Baking Arts has an agreement with FCC's Hospitality, Culinary and Tourism Institute (HCTI) where students can attain credit for several courses (Culinary 1, Baking 1, Hospitality, and ServSafe) by earning an A or B grade in our Culinary & Baking arts program every semester. We also have agreements with other culinary programs around the country. For more information about the Hospitality, Culinary & Tourism Institute at Frederick Community College, visit the HCTI website here.
The Hospitality, Culinary & Tourism Institute (HCTI), an ACFEF-accredited program, offers pathways for every goal, from gaining specific industry credentials to earning a comprehensive academic degree. Programs including Culinary Arts, Baking and Pastry Arts, and Hospitality Management, are each designed to deliver the technical skills, hands-on experience, and knowledge you need to succeed in the field. Real-world experience at 200 Monroe, our signature student-run restaurant, prepares you to lead in professional kitchens, dining rooms, and hospitality settings across the industry and throughout your career.
