The Teaching and Learning pathway is designed to introduce high school students to the field of education and lay a foundation allowing the student to transition into postsecondary studies. Focused on general theory and practice of learning and teaching, basic principles of educational psychology, art of teaching, planning and administration of educational activities, school safety and health issues, and social foundations of education, the pathway is designed to:
Provide a balance of scholarly and clinical experiences and emphasize reflective practice.
Create authentic experiences that engage students in effective educator practices.
Create knowledge, skills and dispositions of effective educators.
Engage rising educators as participants in the statewide community of educators.

The Henry Clay High School Educators Rising CTSO empowers students who are interested in teaching, leadership, and making a lasting impact in their communities. Aligned with the mission of Educators Rising Kentucky, the chapter is dedicated to inspiring, cultivating, and growing middle and high school students into future educators, community leaders, and advocates for high-quality education.
Through hands-on teaching experiences, leadership development, competitions, and professional learning opportunities, Henry Clay Educators Rising helps students explore the teaching profession while building essential skills for college and career success. The chapter supports a clear, sustainable pathway from high school into higher education and the classroom, while also addressing teacher shortages by developing a diverse, homegrown pipeline of skilled, professional educators committed to strengthening schools and communities.
