What are your top three priorities for enhancing economic growth opportunities throughout the city?
1. The City of Fayetteville needs to be more business friendly. This would include making it easier for new
business compliance with zoning and other requirements.
2. The City of Fayetteville needs to develop a robust program to offer tax credits and incentives to locate a new
or existing business in an underutilized area or an existing vacant building within the city limits.
3. The City of Fayetteville needs to continue to make public safety its number one priority.
What are the most pressing issues facing the City of Fayetteville? How will you work to solve them?
The safety of Fayetteville citizens should continue to be the top priority. It affects business developement,
population growth, tourism, etc. We need to fill the vacancies in the police department. We also need to invest
in successful community programs that will address the causes of crime before it turns into violence. As I
stated above, we need to offer better incentives for businesses to locate here and invest in our city. We need to
invest in green spaces, cultural events, and our city's identity, so people want to move here, work here, stay
here, and play here. It is way past time for Fayetteville to implement a plan to enhance the corridors into our
city. As mentioned above, we can accomplish this by incentivizing businesses to invest in neglected areas.
Fayetteville must be fiscally responsible now to ensure that we have funds for the future. We need intentional,
pro-growth planning, and common sense strategies to move Fayetteville forward.
What makes you the best candidate to represent the City of Fayetteville?
I believe that the past two years have given me knowledge that cannot be gained until you've actually served.
It's about learning to work cohesively, for not just the good of my individual district, but all city residents. It is
not an easy task to balance a personal career, family obligations, and council requirements, to include the
expectations of my constituents. I may have taken longer to respond to emails, texts, and phone calls than I
personally prefer and for that I apologize. However, I can say that over the past two years I have attended all
Council meetings, all budget meetings, all work sessions except one, studied each agenda item thoroughly, and
voiced concerns where needed. As a business owner, I have fought hard for fiscal responsibility and
transparency with City contracting, and pushed for third party oversight, which is now in place. There are
several important items that I want to see addressed over the next two years and I am thankful for the
opportunity to continue to help this community move forward.
