Game Notes

  • F&M's first Centennial Conference (CC) matchup of the campaign commences this weekend for a home doubleheader versus Swarthmore. The Garnets currently have a three-game series streak against the Diplomats as F&M's last victory was a 3-0 shutout in 2018. The two teams are the hottest in the CC at the moment as Swarthmore holds a 9-2 record (.818%) and F&M has grips of a 12-6 record (.667%).

  • The Diplomats other two opponents for the week are non-conference matchups against Penn-State Harrisburg and Mennonite. The Diplomats have met Penn-State Harrisburg for four previous contests as the all-time series record is tied 2-2. It will be F&M's first ever meeting with Mennonite.

  • Through 18 games of the young season, Jamie Belfer and Alexa Klepper are maintaining a .493 and .491 batting average, respectively, well enough for fourth and fifth highest in the Centennial Conference (CC). They have also been stout with slugging percentages as Klepper sits fourth in the CC (.698) and Belfer currently stands at eleventh (.582). The duo are also first and second in registered hits as Belfer already recorded 33 and Klepper has ripped 26 hits.

  • Additionally, Klepper leads the CC in RBI's with 24, four more than the second best. Abi Buell currently sits fifth in most RBI's with 15 of her own.

  • Belfer leads the CC by a wide margin in stolen bases of 15, six more than second place. Sam Martin currently has the third most with seven snags.

  • For doubles, Klepper has smacked the third most in the CC with six.

  • During the Diplomat's spring break trip, Klepper piled through 12 hits in 23 at-bats, including four multi-hits games. That stretch included 3-for-3 showing against Salem State in which she was only a homer short of a cycle. The first-year player's efforts so this season nabbed her CC Softball Player of the Week honors.

  • Pitching has been dominant as well as Charlotte Dwyer currently leads the CC in ERA (1.36). Peightyn Schwartz has pitched the sixth best (2.83). Schwartz is presently second overall in strikeouts (33) and Dwyer is fifth overall (31).
