Last weekend, F&M scored 10+ runs in three consecutive games for the first time since the 2011 season, when they scored 13 in a shutout victory over Immaculata (March 22), then 10 and 16 runs in a doubleheader sweep against Penn St. Berks (March 24).
Jamie Belfer continued her efficient swinging from the plate this past weekend as she went a total 8-16 from the plate with three doubles and four RBI's. Belfer's efforts earned her Centennial Conference (CC) Softball Player of the Week honors. Additionally, Belfer is currently ranked first in the Centennial Conference (CC) in steals (8) and tied for first in doubles (4).
Alexa Klepper is presently leading the CC in total RBI's (13) after eight games in the young season. Klepper blasted a two-run HR in game one of the Juniata series.
The duo pitchers of Peightyn Schwartz and Kayla Kilmer portrayed their pitching strengths last weekend in the Gallaudet series as Kilmer struck out nine batters and Schwartz denied seven batters with strikeouts. Schwartz also had a hot streak in game one of the Juniata series, retiring 13 straight batters. The pair also at the moment are leading the CC in total strikeouts (Kilmer 19, Schwartz 16).
