Fairport-Perinton Dollars for Scholars is administered by a volunteer Board of Directors made up of community leaders, school personnel, parents, and students. All monies raised by the local chapter are awarded to deserving students who reside within the Fairport Central School District regardless of which school they attend. A scholarship committee selects the recipients each year based on an application process which is not need-based.
The chapter awards its own scholarships using monies raised through direct donations from sponsors and local fundraising projects. Some colleges want to see how you are doing in your senior year courses, and may require midyear grades as part of your holistic application review. It is up to you the applicant to do the research and determine whether a particular college will require midyear grades; the college's admissions website should provide this information or some colleges will reach out to you directly. It is also up to you the applicant to take the appropriate steps to have your midyear grades sent to colleges, as midyear grades are not automatically sent out. Below is more information on how to request midyear grades be sent...
If your college requests Quarter 1 grades...
Email your counselor and let them know each college that is requesting a quarter 1 grade report or stop by the GLIB and fill out a "blue sheet" request.
If your college requests First Semester grades...
You must fill out a "blue sheet" to request first semester grades. "Blue Sheets" can be found in the Guidance Library. Note - First Semester Grades are available around February 9th.
Please feel free to stop into the Guidance Library or to see you counselor if you have any questions.
