The MMB+CO Accounting Diversity Scholarship was established to provide financial support to students from underrepresented communities pursuing careers in accounting. Our goal is to help address these disparities and promote greater equity within the profession, while encouraging these students to achieve their dreams.
MMB will award two, annually renewable $2,000-per-year scholarships. The scholarship can be renewed up to five years for a maximum total award of $10,000 per recipient.
To apply for the MMB Accounting Diversity Scholarship:
Students must identify with an underrepresented group in the accounting profession
Students must be enrolled full-time (or have applied for full-time enrollment) at a college or university in New York State offering accounting programs that lead to licensure as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
Scholarships will be forfeited if a recipient does not pursue full-time study in New York State
Students must have accounting as their major field of study
Scholarships will be forfeited if a recipient changes their major to anything other than accounting

This scholarship provides $1,000 to a high school senior pursuing an undergraduate degree in an environmental stewardship discipline, including environmental studies, natural resource management, the natural sciences, public administration/policy with an environmental focus, or related disciplines. Up to (5) $1,000 scholarships will be awarded each year.

Eligible applicants must be a graduating high school student pursuing an undergraduate degree in an environmental stewardship discipline. This scholarship is available to students of Fairport High School. Successful recipients may re-apply in subsequent years, although high school seniors will receive priority attention.

The Board of Trustees of the New York Schools Insurance Foundation and the Board of Governors of the New York Schools Insurance Reciprocal are pleased to announce that they are once again offering Cristin Bambino, Paul Jensen and Joseph Goncalves scholarship awards for the coming year. These scholarships are awarded by the Hearing Loss Association of America, Rochester Chapter, in the amount of $1,500 each to be awarded to Greater Rochester area high school seniors with hearing loss who are pursuing post-secondary education or vocational training. The scholarship was established in 1996 thanks to a generous and ongoing contribution from J. Stuart and Phyllis MacDonald and continues to be funded by donations from present and past members. Financial need is not a consideration. The scholarship is a one-time award.

The Family First Federal Credit Union will once again be supporting our community with the annual Len Szumiloski Scholarship, awarding three high school seniors $2,000 each towards their college expenses. Eligibility: Applicant must be of Italian descent and a resident of New York State. Undergraduate awards are for current high school seniors who will begin college study in fall 2026. The scholarship awards are based on academic excellence and service. Students must have an average of 85% or above to apply.
Requirements: The following MUST be submitted directly to the District Scholarship Chairperson for the applicants lodge or geographic district: (a) Official transcripts including first semester senior grades, (b) SAT/ACT scores (if taken). (c) Class rank and size of graduating class should be included, if possible. (d) Two letters of recommendation from teachers and counselors. (e) A student essay (no more than 350 words) summarizing educational and career goals, school and community service and a discussion of the significance of your Italian heritage.

We are pleased to accept submissions from any young woman who is a high school senior within Rochester, NY and the surrounding counties of Monroe. The Stephen A. Segar Epilepsy Scholarship was created in 2007 to support college bound high school seniors that are living with epilepsy. At the age of 35 Steve was diagnosed with epilepsy. Throughout his epilepsy journey Steve learned how to manage his diagnosis while supporting his family and running a successful law firm. Realizing that an epilepsy diagnosis does not mean you have to alter or abandon your dreams is one of the many reasons that Steve is proud to support students in their future endeavors through his scholarship.
Students interested in applying for the Stephen A. Segar Epilepsy Scholarship must be living with epilepsy and planning to attend a four-year college in the fall.

The Hagan Scholarship is a nationwide need-based merit scholarship. The scholarship provides recipients “regardless of nationality” with the opportunity to achieve their goals and graduate college debt-free. The scholarship provides $2,000 to purchase essential items for college and up to $7,500 each semester for up to eight consecutive semesters.
Eligible students must:
Attend a high school located in the US
Eligible students can apply regardless of nationality or citizenship
Achieved an unweighted 3.5 GPA
Must enroll in a four-year College or University the first fall semester following high school graduation

Work 240 hours from 1/1/26 through 9/1/26 - work can be either full-time or part-time, but must be regularly scheduled hours

Quentin Smith Sr. was a United States Air Force Veteran and Past Commander of Myers Ingram American Legion Post 428 in Ontario (Wayne County) New York. For many years he served as Commander in Wayne County, and Chaplain in the 8 County area of New York State referred to as the 7th District. He also served on the NYS American Legion “Back to God” Committee and was Chairman of the Legion’s State Protocol Committee.
Quentin was best known as the long time County and District Advisor to the Sons. He was instrumental in starting the Sons organization in Wayne County, including Squadrons in Macedon and Ontario NY.
His advice and assistance to the Sons was highly respected and was matched only by his unselfish dedication and willingness to serve our organization and his community. He will be sorely missed but not forgotten. It is in his memory that this scholarship is named.

The Firefighters Association of the State of New York will award twenty-five $1,500 scholarships to high school seniors entering college. The Gerard J. Buckenmeyer Memorial FASNY Volunteer Scholarship program is made possible each June through the generous donations of individuals, fire departments and auxiliaries. The awards recognize exemplary members of the youth fire service who also contribute to their communities.

Be a member in good standing with FASNY or have a parent/legal guardian who is a member.
Attend high school as a senior who is enrolled in the fall 2026 school year at an accredited two- or four-year institution of higher learning or an accredited technical post-secondary school.
Serve as a current Junior firefighter, Explorer Scout or RAM in a group affiliated with a volunteer department; or a volunteer EMS unit.
Children of FASNY Members who do not meet the above criteria are also eligible but must provide a letter from the Chief of the Department describing how they have been involved within the department.

Fairport-Perinton Dollars for Scholars, a local chapter of Scholarship America, was established in 1989 by a group of volunteers interested in providing financial support to community young people pursuing higher education. The program is not-for-profit, tax-exempt, and publicly supported.
Fairport-Perinton Dollars for Scholars is administered by a volunteer Board of Directors made up of community leaders, school personnel, parents, and students. All monies raised by the local chapter are awarded to deserving students who reside within the Fairport Central School District regardless of which school they attend. A scholarship committee selects the recipients each year based on an application process which is not need-based.
The chapter awards its own scholarships using monies raised through direct donations from sponsors and local fundraising projects. In addition to awarding its chapter scholarships, Dollars for Scholars administers scholarship funds for other local groups and organizations. If you are interested in establishing a community scholarship from your family, business or a memorial to honor a loved one, please contact Pat Kristy.
