Equitable Facilities

Renovate and update the student service center to provide a welcoming and functional space for students to access support services. Replace portable classrooms with permanent structures designed to facilitate small-group learning and collaboration. Students at Virginia Avenue Elementary have the lowest ELA and Math scores in the district as evidenced by the California School Dashboard. Given these performance gaps, there is a need to optimize the use of the district’s intervention programs by renovating and updating the student service center and replacing portable classrooms with permanent structures in order to provide a more functional space for students to access the appropriate academic support services.
