Committees
ISP COMMITTEES
As your Individual Service Project requirement, all members will sign up to participate in a Service Project Committee.
Please read the information below on each committee, and select one that best fits your interests, availability, and ability to purchase items (some committees rely heavier on your TIME, while some do require that you be able to purchase items).
You will be asked to select a committee via Signup Genius. The signup will be made live Friday, February 18 upon the conclusion of the NHS meeting. It will be sent to members via a Remind text and school email.
The Service Project committees are as follows:
tESTING tREATS committee:
Description:
Members of this committee with make small treat bags for students taking the PSAT in the fall and the ACT, SAT, and EOCs in the spring. Each test-taker will receive a snack, a water bottle, and an encouraging note with their bag. Members will be required to purchase supplies, assemble each bag, and have all treat bags delivered to testing sites no later than two days before tests.
sTAFF aPPRECIATION committee:
Description:
The Staff Appreciation Committee is responsible for recognizing and the principals, faculty, and support staff of BMC.
In the fall, members of this committee will:
Plan an act of appreciation for IT Professionals' Day in September.
Organize an activity for Principal Appreciation month in October
Plan an act of appreciation for Custodian Appreciation Day in October
Organize and execute a staff appreciation breakfast (at school) the week of midterms
In the spring, members will:
Plan an act of appreciation for Law Enforcement Appreciation Day in January
Plan an act of appreciation for National School Counseling Week in February
Organize something special for Assistant Principals’ Week in April
Plan an act of appreciation for Administrative Professionals’ Day in April
Organize and execute teacher appreciation week activities (May), such as putting notes from students in teacher boxes and putting on a teacher breakfast.
Plan an act of appreciation for School Nurse Day in May
Members are required to purchase any supplies for all staff appreciation events.
dRIVES cOMMITTEE:
Description:
Members of this committee will help organize and lead drives during the school year. Students must be willing to help advertise, collect, and distribute the collected items.
Being on this committee will require students to commit time and effort in order to make the drive successful.
All drives must be of benefit to the school.
fUNDRAISING cOMMITTEE:
Description:
Members of this committee will organize and lead various fundraising events. Member duties will include advertising the activities, leading the events, and gathering the supplies for the fundraiser. (Money raised can help fund future fundraisers)
Members of this committee must be willing to commit to scheduled meetings after school and on weekends to best organize and execute the activities. Profits made from events go toward NHS membership items such as pins, certificates, and stoles, and chapter renewal.
The goal of the fundraising committee is to eliminate the need for dues from each member, while fostering a sense of camaraderie among NHS members.
sCHOOL tOURS cOMMITTEE:
Description:
Members of this committee will be primarily responsible for being tour guides at Brashier. Members must be available for the following events:
Rising Freshman Open House on Monday 9/26 at 6:00 (must arrive 30 minutes prior)
Tuesday mornings in October at 8:30 am. Due to this responsibility, members who sign up for this committee must have an Open AM on B-days during the fall semester.
Spring - Rising Freshman Open House (work with Link Crew)
The descriptions listed above are meant to provide an overview of the roles and responsibilities of each committee. Members of the committee they sign up for may be asked to take on responsibilities not explicitly listed above.
While the NHS advisors may provide oversight of each committee, members are expected to report to the NHS Officer who is head of their committee.
