The quality of the learning, teaching and assessment at Braes High School is reviewed throughout the session. As well as the tracking and monitoring of data; the learning experience is evaluated by various stakeholders. 

We will continue to focus on improving the teaching and learning through

• A staff led programme of CLPL

• Sharing good practice at CSI and CLPL sessions

• Practitioner Enquiry groups working across the cluster

• Curriculum Refresh Groups working across the cluster

• Learning Walks - involving both staff and pupils

• Faculty observations and discussions

• Pupil feedback from "Braes Buzz"

• Ongoing self-evaluation as part of the ERD process

Self-Evaluation Leaders:

Our self-evaluation leaders consist of learners from across the BGE and Senior Phase ensuring that there is whole school representation from those who know the pupil -led processes well. They are leaders as well as supporters to their peers. Each year the group support their peers through feedback surveys, designed by them and written using pupil-friendly language, to gain an insight into different aspects of learning and teaching. They meet regularly to discuss the learning and teaching experienced in Braes High School and work collaboratively with staff, peers and parents to highlight areas of strength and areas for development. As a group, they have increased their awareness of policy documentation e.g. HGIOURs meaning they are confident in their approach to driving forward improvement. They use the high-quality data gathered from these interactions to help inform their Pupil Improvement Plan for each session.
