Students learn basic digital camera Students learn basic digital camera handling through Automatic and Manual Camera Modes, settings to achieve photographic manipulation, and printing techniques through a series of activities and projects. Projects include self-portraits, portraits, and themes while understanding how the Elements and Principles of Design apply to photography. The history of photography along with photo careers are discussed and researched. Adobe Photoshop is used throughout the course.

Prerequisite: successful completion of Photo Imaging 1. This course Students learn more advanced digital camera handling through Automatic and Manual Camera Modes, settings to achieve photographic manipulation, and printing techniques through a series of activities and projects. Projects include specific lighting, motion blur, and depth of field. It is designed to further the student’s knowledge of digital photography. Students will study famous photographers and manipulate their techniques while coming up with their own techniques.

Prerequisite: Photo Imaging II, with a course grade as determined by the department Using prior knowledge, students will move away from Auto mode into Manual Modes including Manual Focus. Other modes, filters, and alternative lenses will be used as necessary for projects. Students will not only be responsible for taking photos in class but outside of class time often to further their creativity of subject matter. An artistic environment will exist that best suits student personal interest, whether it be (for example) portraiture, realism, surrealism, abstractionism, and/or macro that will be evident in their digital portfolio.
