Painting is for students who want to enhance their experience in the visual arts. Students will explore different techniques in acrylics, watercolor and tempera. Color theory and painting styles from traditional to contemporary will be emphasized.

Prerequisite: Painting I In this course, students will continue to build upon their previously learned painting skills. Different techniques, and styles will be covered. Students will have the opportunity to improve upon and develop their own personal style.

Prerequisite: Completion of Painting 2, with a course grade as determined by the department This Honors level course focuses on advanced painting techniques in acrylic, watercolor, and mixed media, along with continued compositional skills and color theory. Added emphasis will be on personal style based on personality and ability. Student work will vary on a personal level from abstraction to reality. The course focuses on individual development, style, technique, problem solving approaches and social commentary.
