Dr. Chunlan Guo is a Lecturer in the Department of Geography and Resource Management at The Chinese University of Hong Kong. She received her Bachelor's degree from Sun Yat-sen University, and completed both her Master's and Ph.D. degrees at The Chinese University of Hong Kong.
Dr. Guo's primary research interests include disaster risk management, disaster literacy, public health, and educational innovation. Her work, particularly in disaster response and community resilience, has made meaningful contributions to both local communities and policy development.
One of her recent studies involved the development and preliminary validation of the “Walsh Family Resilience Questionnaire – Short Version (WFRQ-9),” which was published in Disaster Medicine and Public Health Preparedness in 2025.
Dr. Guo is also actively engaged in a variety of projects, including the enhancement of geography education in Hong Kong’s higher education institutions, comparative studies on disaster literacy across the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and citizen perception research on smart city services.
At this conference, Dr. Guo will deliver a lecture titled “Multi-scale Resilience and Disaster Risk Management,” where she will share her insights into the intersection of disaster preparedness, community resilience, and sustainable urban development.
