All IAs will be given the opportunity to receive training on August 7th and will be given a Chromebook to use throughout the 2020-2021 school year. Their training will consist of 3 blocks, Technology, COVID, and Health and Safety.
During Distance Learning:
IAs may be assigned to observe during synchronous learning blocks
IAs may be assigned a student/students to support during break-out sessions
IAs may be assigned to support a student/students during asynchronous learning blocks
IAs may be directed to take observational notes
IAs may be directed to take data during synchronous and asynchronous learning blocks
All lessons must be teacher directed
The IA must be supervised by the teacher
Itinerant Support and Services
Itinerants:
Speech and Language, APE, and OT will still be available via:
Zoom/Google Classroom and/or a TeleTherapy Platform
1:1 Instructional Assistant Support:
Will not be provided in home
Will not be provided for students who have been assigned an IA solely for medical/toileting reasons (check the SSA if you aren’t sure)
Will be assigned at the discretion of the teacher/case manager
Can be utilized in a break-out session and/or to support the student when assigned asynchronous work
AT Devices:
Will be made available for at home use
If the device is in need of repair or additional apps, the parent may drop it off at the DO and Caroline Sambrano will attend to it
